REG 2023-001“Colorado Socially Conscious Sheltering Act” Rulemaking:
CO Dept. of Agriculture rulemaking codifies the “Colorado Socially Conscious Sheltering Act” (SB 1160 – enacted in 2021) which amends Title 35 (Agriculture), Article 80 (Pet Animal Care & Facilities Act) of Colorado Revised Statutes to specify the standards of care that each animal shelter and pet animal rescue is required to provide each dog and cat held in its custody.

ORD 2023001Lafayette Pet Sale Ban Ordinance:
Proposed ordinance would amend Chapter 25 (Animals) of the Lafayette, CO Code of Ordinances by adding a new Section 25-102 (Pet store sales of animals; exception) to prohibit the retail sale of dogs and cats in city pet stores.

ORD 2023002Colorado Springs Shelter-Rescue Model Dog and Cat Sales Ordinance:
Amends Chapter 6 (Neighborhood Vitality/Community Health), Article 7 (Regulation of Animals-General Provisions) of the Colorado Springs, CO Code of Ordinances by creating a new Section 122 (Pet Store Sales Prohibited) to restrict the retail sale of dogs and cats in city pet stores.
