HB 75“Justice for Peanut and Fred Act” (Impounded Animal Care): Amends Title 4 (Animals), Chapter 11 (Animal Protection), Article 1 (General Provisions), Sections 4-11-2 (Definitions), 4-11-9.3 (Caring for an impounded Animal), 4-11-9.6 (Disposal of Impounded Animal) of the Code of Georgia to: (1) Revise certain provisions relating to the impounding and care of domesticated animals by a government agency; (2) Require a court order prior to the euthanasia of any impounded domesticated animal; and (3) Provide for state or local liability in cases of the death of, loss of, or injury to an impounded domesticated animal under certain circumstances.  DIED IN COMMITTEE (MISSED CROSSOVER DEADLINE)
HB 331Roadside Domestic Animal Sales Prohibition: Amends Title 4 (Animals), Chapter 11 (Animal Protection), Article 1 (General Provisions), Section 4-11-10 (Unlawful acts by licensed persons) of the Official Code of Georgia by adding a new Subsection 4-11-10.1 to prohibit the marketing and transferring of certain domestic animals at certain locations.  ENACTED (EFFECTIVE ON 7/1/25)
HR 243/SR 96Purebred Dog Day: House and Senate Resolutions commending the benefits and contributions of purebred dogs and recognizing May 1, 2025, as Purebred Dog Day at the State Capitol.  ADOPTED
SB 105Veterinary Telemedicine: Amends Title 43 (Professions & Businesses), Chapter 50 (Veterinarians & Veterinary Technicians) of the Official Code of Georgia so as to authorize licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians to practice veterinary tele-advice, veterinary tele-triage and veterinary telemedicine.  ENACTED (EFFECTIVE ON 7/1/25)

ORD # 2024-0190DeKalb County Pet Sale Restrictions/Litter Permits: Proposed Ordinance #2024-0190 would amend Chapter 5 (Animals) of the DeKalb County, GA Code of Ordinances by adding new sections to: (1) Provide for Companion Animal Litter Permits; and (2) Restrict the sale and transfer of dogs and cats.  PENDING
