Amends Chapter 287 (Animal Industry), Act 287 of 1969 (Pet Shops, Dog Pounds & Animal Shelters), Sections 287.331 (Definitions), 287.335a (Prohibited Conduct) and 287.340 (Violations; Penalty) of Michigan Compiled Laws to prohibit the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits by pet shops.

REG 2022-001State Endangered & Threatened Species List Amendments:
MI Department of Natural Resources rulemaking amends Sections R-299.1021 through 1028 (Endangered and Threatened Species) of MI Administrative Code by: 1) Adding and/or deleting certain bird, fish, amphibian, reptile, and mammal species to the state’s endangered and threatened lists; and 2) Editing certain scientific names of species.

Amends Chapter 22 (Animals) of the Berkeley, MI Code of Ordinances by adding a new Article V (Retail Pet Store Sales) to prohibit the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in city pet stores.

Amends Chapter 22 (Animals) of the Woodhaven, MI Code of Ordinances by adding a new Article IV (Retail Pet Store Sales) to prohibit the retail sale of dogs and cats in city pet stores.

Amends Title VII (Businesses & Trades) of the Code of Ann Arbor, MI by adding a new Chapter 92 (Humane Pet Acquisition) to prohibit the retail sale of dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, long-lived birds, or large reptiles in city pet stores.
