HB 492Animal Cruelty Offenses – Pet Ownership Prohibition:
Seeks to strengthen penalties for animal cruelty by mandating dispossession of animals for offenders and introducing penalties for using animal cruelty as coercive control in domestic abuse situations.

SB 108Dog and Cat Spay-Neuter Program:
Amends Title 20 (Internal Security & Public Safety), Chapter 193 (Domestic Pet or Wolf-Hybrid Control), Subchapter 2 (Licenses), Section 3581 (General Requirements) to Vermont Statutes Annotated to: (1) Increase the dog licensure fee surcharge that funds the Dog, Cat, and Wolf-Hybrid Spaying and Neutering Program; and (2) Transfer the related rule from the Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets to the Department for Children and Families’ Office of Economic Opportunity.
