Become an Advocate to Take Action on Legislation and Regulations
Help us speak up for the pet care community by becoming part of our FREE Network of Advocates! Together, we’ll champion pet choice, responsible pet professionals, and the values that matter to you and your business. Your expertise is essential in guiding lawmakers and making a real impact.
Why Become an Advocate?
As a pet care professional, your insights matter. Through the Network of Advocates, we empower you to connect with lawmakers and influence decisions BEFORE they affect your work. Last year, we monitored 1,500 bills and regulations, sent out 30 action alerts, and engaged on 265 topics at the state and federal level. This is your chance to play a key role in these efforts and make your voice heard. Share your story, offer your expertise, and help ensure responsible pet care is represented at all levels of government. There is no cost associated with becoming an advocate.

What Benefits Will I Receive as an Advocate?
You will gain access to:
- Advocacy Materials: Legislative briefs, toolkits, and other resources to help you stay informed and take action.
- Exclusive Training Opportunities: Invitations to webinars, training sessions, and one-on-one engagement with PAN staff.
- Regular Updates: Stay informed with FirstLook, our daily news digest which highlights pet-related media coverage across the country, State Wrap-Ups, Action Alerts, and Health Alerts.
These tools will help you stay informed, act when necessary, and better advocate for responsible pet care.

What Time Commitment Is Involved?
You choose how active you want to be! We provide everything you need to stay informed and engaged:
- Read the Communications: Stay updated on important legislative issues and opportunities to act.
- Take Action: Participate in calls to action when needed by contacting lawmakers or sharing an alert.
- Spread the Word: Share opportunities with others in your network who may be interested in taking action.

Is the Network of Advocates Different from PAN Membership?
Yes! The Network of Advocates is a FREE way to get involved and take individual action. Being part of the Network of Advocates keeps you informed about what PAN is doing, but it’s just the beginning! If you want to deepen your involvement, we encourage you or your business to become a PAN member so you can do even more:
- Serve on PAN Committees: Share your expertise and help shape the future of canine, herp, small animal, aquatic, and zoonosis policy through PAN committee involvement.
- Run for the Board: As a PAN member, you can run for a seat on our Board of Directors and help guide our mission.
