Pet Advocacy Network Appoints Sandy Moore as CEO
Industry veteran tapped to lead policy and advocacy association
Alexandria, Va. – Today, the Pet Advocacy Network (PAN) announced the appointment of Sandy Moore as its Chief Executive Officer. Moore brings over 30 years of experience as a leader in the pet and aquaculture industries, with a focus on ethical animal trade practices and sustainability.
Moore most recently served as president of Segrest Inc.—one of the largest pet wholesalers in the world—where she grew revenue by over 40 percent through innovation and acquisition. Meanwhile, she also served as co-chair of PAN’s Aquatic and Government Affairs Committees.
“The Pet Advocacy Network is proud to be the policy voice of responsible pet owners and pet businesses,” said Chris Fleming, owner of Pinnacle Pet and chair of the PAN board. “Sandy’s deep industry knowledge and strong government relations expertise will enable PAN to elevate our impact and strengthen our coalition. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team and know she will hit the ground running.”
“I’m deeply passionate about protecting people’s ability to add pets to their families,” said Moore. “At a time when the ethical pet care community is under attack, PAN’s advocacy mission is more urgent than ever. I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead these important efforts, helping deliver more policy wins for our members, consumers, and the pets we all love.”
Moore is a board member of Project Piaba, Rising Tide Conservation, Ornamental Fish International, and the Florida Tropical Fish Farmers Association. Moore was named the State of Florida’s 2024 Woman of the Year in Agriculture, a 2018 Pet Age Woman of Influence, and a 2017 Florida Tropical Fish Farmers Association Hall of Fame inductee.
