Protect Pet Choice in Las Vegas – Oppose Ordinance No. 2025-14
On August 6, the Las Vegas City Council will vote on a measure that would ban the sale of dogs, cats, rabbits, and potbellied pigs in newly licensed pet stores.
This ordinance won’t stop unethical breeders—it will make things worse.
If passed, Ordinance No. 2025-14 will:
- Create a black market for pet sales
- Increase online scams targeting families looking for pets
- Remove legal protections for consumers and animals
- Undermine responsible, regulated pet businesses in our city
Responsible pet stores and breeders provide transparency, safety, and choice. Extreme pet bans remove these protections and fail to shut down the bad actors they claim to target.
We need smart policies that protect both animals and people—not dangerous bans that push families into risky situations.
Tell the Las Vegas City Council to vote NO on Ordinance No. 2025-14.
