Protect Pet Choice in Paducah
The Paducah City Commission is considering an ordinance that would ban the retail sale of dogs and cats in local pet stores.
This measure is being pushed by a radical DC-based animal rights group. It’s part of a larger campaign to ban all pet sales–fish, guinea pigs, cats, dogs, and more–and put pet stores out of business.
If passed, the ordinance will:
- Push families to unregulated online sellers and social media scams
- Eliminate consumer protections that ensure animal welfare and transparency
- Undermine responsible, regulated pet stores and breeders
- Create a black market for pet sales and trafficking
Paducah’s mayor acknowledged that the issue deserves more research, and for good reason. Pet bans don’t solve problems—they create new ones. The City Commission should focus on supporting responsible breeders and stores that uphold strong standards of care.
Tell the Paducah City Commission to vote NO on the proposed retail pet sale ban and protect responsible pet choice in Kentucky.
