REG 2023-001 | Pet Food Labeling Rulemaking (“Human Grade”/”Natural”): Proposed CA Department of Public Health rulemaking would amend Title 17 (Public Health), Division 1 (State Department of Health Services), Chapter 5 (Sanitation-Environmental), Subchapter 2 (Foods & Drugs). Group 2 (Definitions & Standards), Article 16 (Processed Pet Food Regulations) of the California Code of Regulations to: (1) Permit pet food producers who meet certain requirements to use the terms “human grade” and “natural” in describing their processed pet food products; and (2) Align the licensing period and fee requirements with language currently in the CA Health & Safety Code. | PENDING |
