Summary:
The “Animal Abuser Registry Law” (Local Law No. 3-2024) would authorize the Columbia County, NY County Sheriff to establish an on-line Animal Abuser Registry that shall contain the names and residence information of all available Animal Abuse Offenders living in Columbia County who are convicted of an Animal Abuse Crime.

Summary:
Ordinance No. 1089-2024 amends Title 20 (Consumer & Worker Protection), Chapter 8 (Earned Safe & Sick Time Act), Section 20-912 (Definitions) and Section 20-914 (Use of Safe/Sick Time) of New York City Administrative Code to allow sick time to be used for the care for certain animals.

Summary:
Local Law Int. No. 1018 amends Title 17 (Health), Chapter 3 (Licenses & Permits), Subchapter 9 (Pet Shops) of New York City Administrative Code to: (1) Prohibit the sale of dogs or cats by retail pet shops; (2) Define “pet dealer” and “retail pet shop”; (3) Include “pet dealers” in existing breeder sourcing and permit requirements; and (4) Repeal Section 17-1706 (Exemptions for Shelter and Rescue Partners).
